Solstice – to stand still.
This past weekend included Juneteeth, the Summer Solstice, and Father’s Day. Days of remembrance, reflection, and honoring. The word Solstice means to stand still, that time when the length of day makes the shift. As the hours of daylight will be decreasing in the western hemisphere, I hope you took some time to be still and absorb all that has happened to you and the world. Time to assess and decide how you want to move forward.
Things are changed. How is that impacting you? What have you learned to appreciate, let go of, and what do you choose for your future? You can choose to go on, clinging to old beliefs that do not work anymore or begin to look beyond what may have been comfortable for you. You can continue to only listen to people who agree with you or open yourself up to looking at things from a different perspective. What “worked” in the past is no longer good enough. What can you do to make the road ahead work better for everyone?
