Dealing with Change
Change. I already talked about change but the change we are facing now is bigger than anything in our lifetime. Everyone is going through this at the same time. What does this mean? Everyone is stressed because they need to adapt to find a way to interact and navigate the world. Each person responds to stress in different ways. How do you normally deal with stress and how well does it work for you? This is important to consider right now.
Many people’s nerves are on edge. This is not a very great way to go through your day. Letting go of fearful thoughts or images allow our nervous system to calm. When we are calm and have a clear mind we actually deal with stress better. We can also deal better with others who may be acting in ways that we do not agree with. When we react in a rigid way, get angry, or avoid the truth we are acting out of fear. If you are honest with yourself you can see that this is true. Choose your battles wisely and notice when you are reacting more out of fear. How do you want to move forward and get through this? What things are under your control and what are not?
